GUS

Industrial AI Co-pilot

Agentic AI that understands your plant — documents, sensors, batch records, and PLC programs — and answers engineering questions with cited evidence from your own operational data.

What is GUS

Three Knowledge Sources.
One Conversation.

GUS is an agentic AI system purpose-built for industrial food and dairy processing plants. It combines three knowledge sources that plant engineers have never been able to query together before: your document library, your live sensor data, and your PLC logic.

Ask GUS why a set time exceeded spec. It will retrieve the SOP target from the recipe document, pull the actual step timing from the historian, and tell you exactly how far off you ran — with citations for both sources.

For plant operations, this means faster troubleshooting and fewer calls to engineering. For management, a complete record of every question and answer. For compliance, every response is evidence-backed and traceable.

GUS — ACV01

Why did the set time run long on last night's batch?

Set time target per recipe spec: 3:00:00. Actual elapsed from telemetry: 5:10:22 — +72% over spec. Vat temperature held at 88.4°F (within range). pH trending data shows coagulation onset delayed by ~18 min relative to historical median. SOP Section 4.3 recommends verifying rennet dose rate if set time exceeds target by more than 30 min.

What GUS Can Do

Document Intelligence

Semantic search across SOPs, P&IDs, equipment manuals, recipe specs, parts lists, and commissioning reports. Every answer cites the exact source and section.

679 indexed document chunks

Live Telemetry

Real-time sensor data from your plant historian. Current values, time-series trends, and threshold monitoring across every instrumented point in the process.

3,897 searchable tags

Batch Analytics

Step timing analysis, batch history comparison, and production metrics. Instantly identify which steps ran long and by how much relative to the recipe specification.

Automatic batch boundary detection

PLC Intelligence

Parsed L5X programs, user-defined types, controller tags, and alarm definitions. Ask about any rung, any tag, any alarm configuration in natural language.

334 PLC program chunks + 480 alarms

Multi-Channel Access

Ask GUS from the web app, by email, by text message, or by phone call. Get answers wherever you are — on the plant floor, in the office, or on the road.

Equipment Expertise

Pump curves, heat exchanger specs, instrument datasheets, and sizing calculations. GUS knows your equipment by tag number and can pull specs on demand.

Process Engineers Who Build AI

Advanced Process Technologies (APT) is a process engineering firm with 25 years of specialization in food and dairy processing. Our engineers have designed cheese vats, butter churns, UHT systems, membrane separation units, and CIP circuits for cooperatives and processors across the United States.

GUS is the product of that domain expertise combined with three years of research into industrial AI architectures and one year of development against a live production system.

We are not a software company that learned dairy. We are process engineers who built an AI system because we understood exactly what information our operators needed and couldn't get fast enough.
